Here’s an online column about tranny culture that I read weeks ago that I whole-heartedly agree with. Though it was written last year, it still holds true now. Simon Doonan doesn’t mince words in telling us how trannies have been an unacknowledged force in the gay movement. More so, they’re not given the proper respect accorded to them.
Though I have never felt the need to chop off my own willie, I take no issue with those who have. On the contrary, the trannies of the world and I have always hit it off. The best thing about living in New York was always the high density of cross-dressers, transgendered persons, drag queens, hermaphrodites and what-have-yous who sprinkled their fairy dust on all and sundry at L’Escualita, the Pyramid Club, the Copa and other unsavory boîtes. Does anyone still remember G.G.’s Barnum Room? Mandy, Candy, Sandy, Ava and Potassa … thanks for the memories! You “girls” were funny, you were crazy, you freaked people out, and you never failed to add a sizzle of Warholian glamour to any occasion. And you had guts: When the chips were down, it was purse-wielding trannies who subdued the police at the Stonewall riots, while the “butch” clones trembled on the sidelines in their Lacoste shirts.

What a treacherous journey. I finally made it to land after nearly perishing from the plane crash. This tranny news from James Mason has been a long time coming and a good thing for the NCAA. I hope this development would continue to be a step up in making not only transsexual people to have equal rights, but gays, lesbians and bisexual people as well.
The NCAA has made strides in educating its coaches and athletes on lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transsexual issues, but there is still room for the NCAA and the schools it governs to improve.
Currently, the NCAA sponsors an array of diversity education programs for all of its schools, which includes homophobia in sports. Charlotte Westerhaus is the Vice President of the NCAA’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion, which coordinates these diversity programs.
“If a school would like to have a presentation, we require the athletic department to go through an introductory course on diversity,” Westerhaus said. “We want people to have a primer on it first, before they have an advanced course. Then a university can bring in a person from a half day to a full day on issues. Homophobia is one of our more requested workshops on an advanced level. In addition to that, what we are now putting together is a best practices document that will highlight diversity related best practices that support student athletes, coaches and administrators.”

Here’s a bit of sad news from our transsexual sisters from the Far East. Taken from TrannyNet Magazine, it appears that people who want to have a sex change operation in Japan may have to go elsewhere to get the procedure done.
The Supreme Court has quashed the bid by two western Japan transsexuals to have their genders changed on their official family registers, court officials said Monday.
The nation’s top court turned down the applications from Sayaka Morimura, 47, of Ikoma, Nara Prefecture, and Masami Osako, 51, of Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture, to be officially recognised as women.
Both Morimura and Osako were born male, but underwent sex change operations after being diagnosed as suffering from gender identity disorder. Though they both live entirely as women, their respective family registers both continue to list them as men.
When the word ‘transsexual‘ is thrown during discussions, people express mixed reactions in their faces, if you’re lucky. Some would express their dissent in violent ways, perhaps starting verbal put-downs and such.
It is not an easy life for shemales, but their rights are slowly but surely making its stand in society, and it should see more progress in the coming years. Here’s one letter that eloquently describes what it means to be a transsexual in society.
When we strip away all our big words, I feel what’s left as an essential ‘core’ of my transsexualism is my feelings. I feel what makes me happy and what makes me unhappy are my ‘ultimate true description of being transsexual‘. Before transitioning, sometimes people would think of me as though I was a man. Sometimes people make a really big deal about how men and women are different. These sorts of things used to make me *really* upset and I’d just end up feeling miserable about who I am. That’s probably not so clear so I’ll write an example of each. But they are only single examples of a type of experience. I’m going to choose examples from the year or so before I transitioned. The examples don’t describe transsexuality to me; the pervasiveness of experiences like these throughout my life are what I feel describes my transsexuality.
