Star Vijay To Host Transgender TV Show
Awareness to the transsexual culture has been given media mileage in India when Star Vijay will feature a half-hour chat show focusing on the lives of trannies. The weekly show will be hosted by Rose, a postgraduate in biomedical science and who also happens to be a transgender. Still in its pre-production stages, the show plans to inform the viewers regarding the shemale culture by using drama, comedy, and lots of emotion as vehicles to their socially-charged content. The programme will throw light on who the transgenders are and the medical reasons behind the transforma tion of a person born as a man into a woman. Apart from this, the show will have transgenders speaking about their experience of growing up and humiliation by family and the society.
Psychiatrists will be present in the show to explain queries on sexual orientation and gender disparity. The show would also have a transgender and her family narrating their story of denial and accep tance appealing to the public to accept their children who are born transgenders and not reject them.
